Using Raycash

Cards

Virtual and physical Raycash cards — order, activate, spend, manage.

Your Raycash card spends directly from your confidential balance. Every purchase is debited from your confidential balance in real time, converted to the local currency at the point of sale, and settled through our card partner.

Virtual card

A virtual card is issued in seconds. Once verified, open the app, tap Cards → Create virtual card, and you'll see the card number, expiry, and CVV. Add it to Apple Pay or Google Pay right from the app and start spending immediately.

Virtual cards are ideal for:

  • Online purchases
  • Subscriptions you want to cancel easily (freeze the card, subscription dies)
  • Tap-to-pay via your phone

Physical card

A physical card ships to your verified address. When it arrives, activate it from the app. It works at any contactless terminal and can be inserted into chip readers.

Spending

Your card works anywhere major card networks are accepted.

  • In your account currency — no fee, no FX markup
  • In a different currency — 1.5% FX markup (see Fees & limits)
  • Contactless — works everywhere contactless is accepted
  • Chip & PIN — supported on the physical card
  • ATM withdrawals

Managing your card

From Cards in the app:

  • Freeze / unfreeze — toggles in one tap, takes effect immediately. Use this if you misplace your card.
  • View PIN — your physical card PIN, viewable securely in the app
  • Change PIN — at any supported ATM
  • Set limits — daily and per-transaction limits, within the caps set by your account tier
  • Report lost or stolen — cancels the card and lets you order a replacement

3D Secure

For online purchases at merchants that require 3DS, you'll get a push notification in the app. Approve it with your biometric or PIN and the purchase completes. No SMS codes, no friction.

Transactions

Every transaction shows up in your activity. Two states matter:

  • Authorized — the merchant has reserved the funds; they haven't actually charged yet. This shows immediately.
  • Settled — the merchant has captured the charge. Usually within a few days.

Refunds land back as a credit to your balance when the merchant processes them — same channel, opposite direction.

Declined transactions show the reason (insufficient balance, limit reached, merchant blocked, etc.) so you're never guessing.

How top-up works

There's no separate "card balance" to top up. The card pulls directly from your Raycash balance at the moment of purchase. Fund your account via IBAN or onchain deposit — see Moving money — and your card spends against that balance.
